#2358 - SuiteCRM Outlook plugin slow and crashing

I installed the Outlook plugin into my Outlook 2016 Pro Plus and immediately began getting errors. It did transfer my contacts from SuiteCRM into Outlook, HoweverOutlook became sluggish and was frequently pausing with frequent errors. Currently Outlook has disabled the plug-in indicating it is causing problems.

My Outlook is connected to a SmarterMail v15 server as an Exchange ActiveSync mailbox. Our SuiteCRM is v7.11.8.

I have screenshots of the years but you do not see a place to attach them.

Errors include:
failed to handle and item modified in calendar NullFerfernceException object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    After going through the above process for several minutes the suitecrm Outlook plug-in then pops up and says closing but freezes. Outlook then disables the plug-in.

    Hi Todd,

    The on-screen errors you are experiencing were for debugging purposes and have no detrimental effect on the functions of the plugin. As a workaround, please navigate to the add-ons settings menu, to the information tab and set "Show On-Screen Errors" to "None". After updating these settings, the plugin will only cause errors within the logs. Please re-enable the plugin and let me know if you encounter any further issues

    In regards to the currently supported version as mentioned on the about page, the current version 3 of the add-on is supported within Outlook 2010 to 2016 however upon the release of V4 will support 2013 and later

      I did as you suggested and there are no more errors.

      However SuiteCRM has stopped syncing contacts to Outlook. I have gone into SuiteCRM and selected several contacts and chose the option to Sync to Outlook. The plugin setting are set configured to send SuiteCRM contacts one way to Outlook. I did that this morning and the contacts in Outlook have not updated after several hours.

      Can you give me a general timeline for support in Outlook 2019.

    Hi Todd,

    Could you provide screenshots of your configuration of the plugin to help me replicate the issues you are experiencing (Please don't include the credentials tab)

    In regards to Outlook 2019 support, Add-on V4 which is in active development should do so, its release current estimated for Winter 2019.
