Version 3.0.0 — for SuiteCRM 8

This is a big refresh of MTS History Timeline, redesigned for SuiteCRM 8. The timeline on your records is now faster, cleaner, and shows more of your activity in one place.

What's new

A modern timeline on your records The activity timeline has a fresh, easier-to-read design and appears right on your record pages.

Open any item without leaving the page Click any activity — a call, meeting, task, note, email or event — and it now opens in a pop-up window right on top of your timeline, instead of sending you to a new browser tab. While it loads, you'll see a spinner so you always know it's working. The pop-up shows just the record details, so it's clean and quick to read.

Events now show on the timeline Events (FP Events) linked to your contacts, leads or prospects now appear in the timeline, and you can filter to see only events.

See your contacts' activity on the account Turn on "Include Contacts activities in Account timeline" in the settings, and an account's timeline will also show the calls, meetings, tasks and events of its related contacts. Each of these is clearly marked with a "From contact: …" tag, and you can click it to open that contact.

A simpler, tidier settings page The configuration screen has been redesigned to be cleaner and easier to use. You can now switch each module on or off in the timeline with a single "Include in timeline" toggle, and everything fits on one compact page.

Improvements & fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the "All" filter could show nothing even when activities existed.
  • General polish across the timeline and settings screen.

How to update

Install this version from Admin → Module Loader, then run Admin → Repair → Quick Repair and Rebuild. Your existing data and settings are kept.

  • Marking events as complete and event reminders are not included in this version.

  • I have one final request regarding days untouched: the general managers of our company are only interested in any activity on a record, not just one kind of activity. Your days untouched is very good, but what our managers need to know is if any activity has happened, not specific.

So, in addition to the fine work you've done so far, please consider adding to the top of the timeline a minimum days untouched... but for all parameters.

For example, if tasks were untouched for 3 days, calls were untouched for 10 days, and meetings were untouched for 20 days, the 'days untouched' at the top would be 3.

This shows that the account reps touched it 3 days ago, and that's all the general managers care about. (To see it. Login as admin > History Time Line settings > Checked for option 'Show days untouched of all' > hit 'Save')
