#4978 - Duplicate Opportunity Name Bug
Hi,
We are facing the following issue that was replicated on at least 2 different outlook installations. Steps to replicate in SuiteCRM: 1. Create two companies, "Company A" and "Company B" 2. Create two opportunities with the same name "Bare Metal Server PRO" and link one with "Company A" while the other with "Company B"
Steps in Outlook: 1. Archive a random email under the opportunity that is linked to "Company A" 2. Archive a different email under the opportunity that is linked to "Company B"
The above actions should have resulted in one archived email under the opportunity with connection linked to "Company A" and one archived email under the opportunity with connection linked to "Company B" but it results both emails are archived under the opportunity with connection link to "Company A" and the other remains empty?
We assume it is a bug, can you please verify and let us know if you can provide a fix?

If the opportunities have the same name - when archiving the email, you need to click the search button to select the exact record. This will bring up and browse window and will show you a list of opportunities in a list with one of the columns being the account. You can then select the opportunity that is related to that account. This is the purpose of this tool to allow you select records with the same name but other properties that are different for example select an account from a list of identical names based on the address of the account

Dear Support,
Yes we agree that there is no UI issue, you can select the opportunity that has the same name for that company but the issue is that it never archives it under the selected opportunity. We select the opportunity that is registered under "Company B" so it would archive the email there but instead it is archived under "Company A", that's the issue we are facing.

If you select other opportunities without duplications - does it archive correctly?

Dear Support,
Yes, when the opportunity name is unique it archives correctly.

Hi,
Thank you for reporting the issue to us. We were able to reproduce it and we'll escalate it to be included in one of the future releases. Unfortunately, we cannot commit to a date at this time when it would be fixed.
