Implicit FrontEnd provides deep integration with Microsoft Outlook. In addition to full two-way synchronization of Outlook data such as contacts and calendars, it allows you to sync CRM data including accounts, opportunities, quotes etc. so that you can do all your CRM work without leaving Outlook. In addition, FrontEnd allows you to leverage the rich Outlook functionality to provide tools such as manual and automatic email archiving, collaboration and approval, opportunity tracking and more.
#4795 - Need your app for certain user roles not others
Does every email used in the SuiteCRM application need to be associated with a Outlook instance when your app is installed
Also, our business hosts events and uses group email reply addresses. So we spike up to 20-30 users at times , but for most of the year we only have a 3-5 power users who are the only ones who need this type of app continually. Is it possible to only assign your licenses to only a subset of uiteCRM users? Or pay for some limited use licenses? Deactivating and reactivating users will not work for us.

Hi,
Does every email used in the SuiteCRM application need to be associated with a Outlook instance when your app is installed - Sorry, we don't understand your question.
The answer to your second one is yes. You can install FrontEnd and assign licenses to for only a subset of users, not all SuiteCRM users.

Thank you for prompt reply. A few more questions:
1) If we have users who doing work with us whereby 10-20% of their outlook contacts exist in our suiteCRM , but the other 80-90% have nothing to do with our organization, can your app then sync only associated.
2) If an outlook user has more than one more address , including possibly a gmail address, how does that work with the synching?
3) If there is a previous history with a contact in someone's outlook , that doesn't exist in suiteCRM instance, how can that contact and history (ie 10 previous emails) be associated
4) Are there compatibility issues that can arise when someone has customized the suiteCRM instance, if so what are best practices to maintain compatibility with your app?

Hi,
1) If we have users who doing work with us whereby 10-20% of their outlook contacts exist in our suiteCRM , but the other 80-90% have nothing to do with our organization, can your app then sync only associated. [Implicit] Yes, you can sync only those contacts that are CRM related.
2) If an outlook user has more than one more address , including possibly a gmail address, how does that work with the synching? [Implicit] We use both primary and secondary email addresses to identify a contact
3) If there is a previous history with a contact in someone's outlook , that doesn't exist in suiteCRM instance, how can that contact and history (ie 10 previous emails) be associated [Implicit] Users can go back to past emails and add them to a contact record in SuiteCRM
4) Are there compatibility issues that can arise when someone has customized the suiteCRM instance, if so what are best practices to maintain compatibility with your app? [Implicit] We support both custom fields for standard modules and custom modules. You can select them through the Outlook add-in and work with them in Outlook and have them synced between SuiteCRM and Outlook

A little more clarification please
2) I was referencing the suiteCRM user not a contact. So if I receive email in my outlook from two address address1@oultlook.com and address2@gmail.com how does this affect syncing? Can email associated with one address only be synched to suiteCRM?
3) Can it be done in batch , or does each email have to be processed individually?
4) Have you encountered any instances where the suiteCRM customization broke your applications ability to fully function?

Thank you for the insights. These questions were an attempt to accelerate our understanding of the feasibility of using your add on , including how it would reconcile against customization of suiteCRM we are completing in next couple business days. It appears likely we will try to work with your app first and start the using the trial soon.
