#307 - Report Level access restrictions

Closed Feature created by minusha 7 years ago

Hi,

I'm currently a SuitCRM user. The issue we currently face with the default reporting module are as follows: - Its inability to restrict/allow access to reports at a report-level: Reports cannot be made private / public - The edit privileges being tightly coupled with the facility to duplicate an already existing report: We have tried restricting the create, edit and delete privileges of the reports module to the 'Owner' of the report. However, since 'Edit' is tightly knit with the 'Duplicate' functionality, other users cannot duplicate an existing report.

I'd like to know if there are other options (plugins etc) facilitated by SuiteCRM to resolve the aforementioned issues ?

Thanks.

    Hello minusha,

Thank you for contacting us! 1.) First of all Analytic Reporting Tool can be restricted / allowed access to the specific users: you should set it to 'Private' (not 'Public') and then select necessary users and tell if they can edit or view report; Other users will not see report. Detailed visualized description you will find in Page #21:

    https://itsapiens.eu/public/file/solution/art-sugarcrm/User_Manual_Analytic_Reporting_BASIC_for_SugarCRM.pdf?v=2

2.) If you give 'Edit permissions' users can use 'Save as' and make copy of the report. If you give 'View' permissions, users can not use Save as and make copy; Instead of copying, maybe you can just add filter - 'Assigned to' -> 'Current user' in this case everyone gets access to his own data only in the same report, no need to duplicate reports.

Pro version would also allow for 'View' users give permissions to edit specific filters,.

    Best Regards, IT Sapiens Team
