#1603 - Function not displaying in Sugar Project Theme
If I use the Suite P theme the sudo functions display. However if I use our default theme of Sugar Project they do not.

Hello Swatson,
In deed the manual has been redacted using SuiteP (default SuiteCRM theme) If you use the classic Sugar theme, the necessary option will not be available under the HOME module.
There's a workaround for that : Go to the Users Module, select a user. In the User module menu entries, you will see the "Log as xxx" entry to connect as this specific user.
Can I ask you the main reason to use the classic theme of former SugarCRM software ? UI UX not adapted to your business ? Color scheme ? Please keep me updated if the workaround works on your instance.
If so, please do not hesitate to leave us a review of the module (on both themes) I'll forward your message to developpers in order to check if we could find a way to activate the function on an older theme (I think this is only jquery that is missing : you should see a JS error in the console windows of your browser)

I tried the suggested workaround and it does not work either. The only options I get on the selected record is Mass Update, Export or Delete.
The Theme we are using is an add-on theme that we purchased through Suite CRM app store.

In deed in SuiteCRM 7.10, only SuiteP theme is shipped. I think that the theme provider is not shipping the same exact features and modules than the one used by SuiteCRM by default (thus you should have errors in some areas of the software cause we are using basic SuiteCRM functions to display the popup)
However we should have a look, could you please send the NAME of the theme module purchased over the store in order to let us contact the provider ? Without it, it will be hard to find the right theme !
I will do my best to follow your case in the upcoming days.

I have quickly browse the theme keyword on the store. Seems there's for example "SpecInfo Theme" that is released. Problem with this theme is that it overrides the default look and feel of SuiteCRM and replace the left menu by the list of menus (and menu entries in a submenu). Not sure if their module has been thinked to use the extensions framework to display the full menu list as it should. (I would love to be able to look at the code)
Waiting your feedback about the theme's name. If we can't contact the provider, we will maybe ask you to send the theme Zip to our email address in order to gain time.

This is what it says in the module Loader "Sugar-project Theme modules Pro" version 8.4.
It calls it Sugar Project Theme in the menu of themes.
the theme can be seen at https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/sugarcrm-themes.

Thanks for your feedback. Can you please also confirm your SuiteCRM version AND php version ? (it might help us) We contacted SuiteCRM store to see if we can access the theme files in order to have a look.
If we don't have the necessary feedback during the night (11:45pm here) could you provide us maybe the theme zip file (that you downloaded from the store ?) Our email is quite simple : info.idevit@gmail.com
Looking forward your answer here for the versions. I will keep you updated tomorrow morning regarding the data collected during the night.

Hmm the module is hosted on Sugaroutfitters and not this store. I don't know if Jason (admin) will be able to enable me a copy / demo version of this pro edition. Looking at the presentation, it is clear that the theme is totally rewritting the UI and layout and does not use the standard libraries shipped with SuiteCRM.
This explains why any UI modification would not work correctly if we rely on default theme engine capabilities.
I must have the source file of the module in order to read the code. To the first look of the video, they don't use any Menu for the Homepage module explaining you can't see the links provided by our module.

Customer is using a 3rd party theme provided by SugarOutfitters : https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/sugarproject-theme This theme is overwrtting a lot of modules/default files to replace them with a new version, including compiled JS files ! (that is not advised as Admin could choose to recompile JS in the admin pannel breaking all changes provided by this module)
Clearly the changes introduced by this theme are not upgrade safe and customers should be warned they will be stucked in a specific version (no upgrade plan to 7.11 or 8.0) unless the provider upgrade the code to handle properly all version upgrades (that is not the case here)
Anyway, regarding our module : We are using Out of the box installation of SuiteCRM 7.10 and thus, are expecting to have the default installation files and set of features provided by the SuiteCRM software. If a customer has previously installed another module that is changing the way the core engine works (the case here) any customization provided by others suppliers could not work.
Our advise : - Get back to default theme (you will then be able to upgrade your suitecrm instance to latest version and continue the upgrade plan as Suite is releasing new features) - If this is not an acceptable plan for you --> you might ask extra service either to the theme provider or the additional module provider (that mean extra cost, from the code read until now this could requires up to days of work, simply cause the theme creator didn't expect to include/respect all the default features provided in the default engine.). - Last solution is that you will not be able to use our module (and other providers' module as well) and so might ask a refund from the store.
Hope this long answer will help future customers (I agree that without having the necessary coding skills it might be barely impossible to check if a module is overwritting a lot of base files)
best regards

User choosed to ask for a refund during the weekend. Unfortunately, our module is working with out of the box version of Suitecrm, but this plugin break the default experience and features without providing an easy way to bypass. Closing the case and adding a new FAQ entry about theme compatibility.
