Hello,
This error will always happen if file permissions are not set correctly for SuiteCRM. It prevents either the uploaded zip file to not unzip correctly or the copying of files to not work.
For suggested permission settings see the "Copying SuiteCRM files to web server" section at https://docs.suitecrm.com/admin/installation-guide/downloading-installing/.

I followed those instructions, I am familiar with the perms setup. I still get the same issue. Do I need to clear the cache or something?

Once fixed the package needs to be removed/deleted from Module Loader and reuploaded. Then try installing again. If you still run into the same issue then the permissions are not permissive enough still. It could also be a file/directory ownership issue as well.

After deleting an uploading, I had the same problem, so I just did a chmod oug+w CRM and it installed. Now I am going back to default perms.

I canceled the paypal scheduled payment when I was having trouble. Which invalidated the key. Now it wants me tp pay. Is there anyway to get back to the free 30day evaluation?

Glad you were able to figure that out! Yes, just start a new trial and use the new license key. No need to reinstall.
