Using the File upload field for image uploads? With Image Preview any file uploaded that is an image shows a preview of the image on Notes, Documents, custom modules, etc. Wherever the File field type is used. Works on detail views, edit views, list views, and subpanels.

The Case update threaded is managed in a very different way by file SuiteCRM/modules/AOP_Case_Updates/Case_Updates.php.
Can't you see the preview in the history subpanel of the case?

no, I am not seeing any attachments in the history subpanel

there are two places I can add an attachment to a case - 1) from "Updates Attachment form" in the edit view, if I add from here, it is not showing up in history. 2) directly in history, When I add here, it is showing up with preview alos. But the preview is very small, do not think there is much we can do about it because of the layout.
in the second case, it is showing the image file name in a field called "Case Attachment" multiple file names are displayed here, it would be convenient if the preview is visible here - is it possible?

That's currently not possible and I'm not sure it could be done upgrade-safe.
