#148 - Many problems with this addon

Closed Bug? created by Serge Pelletier 7 years ago

I had great expectations on this one; and I tested on a test machine (fortunately!) and before installing it I copied the site so my test instance being http://suitedev/778 I also copied it to get http://suitedev/778Copie

I installed to the first one and tested it with accounts and contacts. 1. One important problem is that it messed up my edit view for account but not for contacts my account view have somekind of a group for address, city, state, etc. Once the extension is installed I only have the street left... another effect is that the tab order was messed up in my edit view. I really do not know why this could happen.
if I compare the 2 test instances I can see the differences as explained earlier.

  1. We have 6 blind people working for us (this is our business... accessibility), and for them when the system looks up for duplicate information, if duplicates were found it appear that the focus is back at the very first field of the form after each validation. Not that important for a sighted person but it is important for someone using Jaws.

  2. Try to enter John Smith as a contact, you will have many first name match, and last name match, the important issue (but could be simple fix) is that the huge list returned of matches is not sorted out.... for someone with large database this issue renders the tool useless.

  3. I find the fields pretty limited for the accounts and contacts, (but might be benefic for performance).

A real good point to mention is that the phone number search does not take into account the format which is a real good idea.

My test instance use a separate sql server, not the one on production, I wonder about the performance in real world. I wonder about the performance impact of the search, I know there is no magic, but people are complaining enough like this about system performance...

For all those issue I will ask for a refund and might reconsider one those issue are corrected.

Thank you
