Installation Guide

SuiteCRM 8 usage: This add-on overwrites files on installation! These changes will be undone on uninstall. If you are insecure regarding the changes, please consider with CMS. The changes are necessary, since SuiteCRM 8 does not provide a reliable way of extending the front-end through the installation process of the module-installer.The Angular front-end won't be rebuild and there is no warranty given, the host uses the right node / yarn setup.

No matter which add-on you are going to install, we always recommend a back-up or your application and database before any upload and install activity. It is also recommended, to do a complete snapshot of your (virtual) machine - even frequently

Installing the Add-on

Step 1.

Download & Install the package by SuiteCRM Modulloader. It is a normal extension, which can be installed and uninstalled at any time.

Step 2.

For installation, you must be logged in as an admin user. Navigate to "Admin", click "ModulLoader" and select the downloaded package (.zip) for upload

Step 3.

After uploading you can press the "Install" button. Follow the instructions by SuiteCRM. At the end you will be redirected to enter the given add-on license for validation.

Step 4.

If you discovered any issue during your installation, fell free to contact us. Please send for each request of that kind an attached Screen-shot plus a short description (flow) of your steps.

Step 5.

Once you succeeded with the installation go back to "Admin". Head out for "Repair" and "Quick Repair and Rebuild". This step will rebuild any possible views, repair your database setup aligning to the installed modules and clear old cached files. Maybe you will get an output, which asks you for executing some SQL on your database. We recommend you to consider such changes with your local SuiteCRM administrator, because the can affect your runtime environment critical. This document template add-on won't cast such an output for you, thus it will come by other additional add-ons or customization. If you have no one to ask, feel free to consider us instead. We try to help you in such a case.

Step 6.

After installation there will be a new link at your "Admin" section called "Document Templates". You will find the access to the actual document templates as well as access to the block definition module, which allows you to perform more complex data gathering. Presets can be overwritten as well by using the settings link. Be aware those changes will be applied global inside your CRM config

Upgrading the Add-on

Step 1.

Backup existing templates. It is highly recommended to backup your uploaded templates repetitively. You can find the current upload location written at setting "Directory for templates". On top you will need the database records for templates and blocks. Consider backup strategies with your IT administration.

Step 2.

Uninstall the current version. Do not(!) remove existing tables. It would erase all you template definitions. Remove the uninstalled package.

Step 3.

Get the updated version and continue at Step 1 "Installing the Add-on"
