#5918 - Double Opt-in Mapping & Feature Visibility

In Progress General Question created by crmspace GmbH 4 days ago

Hi support team,

we need your input again on two follow-up questions:

Do you have a tutorial or standard mapping that describes how checkbox values for the double opt-in (DOI) process are handled? In particular, we are interested in the processes “new contact in the CRM: trigger DOI request and set consent in the CRM once confirmed” (including events such as “CSV import of new contacts in the CRM for which DOI should be triggered via Mailchimp”), as well as “contact unsubscribes from a campaign” or “contact unsubscribes from all mailings.” How are such requirements typically implemented on your side? Currently, it seems that this information is not being transferred (would this require manual mapping?).

The second question relates to the different feature tiers of the add-on: in the basic package, only very condensed information is currently visible (?module=SugarChimp&action=campaigns). Specifically, on the level of contacts/leads/targets, we would need detailed events (e.g., “contact clicked link Y”, “opened email X”, etc.). We could not find a precise description - are we correct in understanding that the Advanced package provides visibility of all available UI elements and Mailchimp interactions within the CRM that the add-on supports? The descriptions of the higher-tier features do not clearly indicate additional UI elements or additional CRM-level data.

Thank you very much and best regards, crms

    Great question.

SugarChimp syncs the subscription status between Suite and Mailchimp. When a record unsubscribes from a campaign on the Mailchimp, we do send that data back to Suite to mark them as opted out (or invalid if the email is cleaned on the Mailchimp side). To confirm, are you saying that unsubscribes aren't being synced back to Sugar as expected? SugarChimp doesn't have any built-in features to configure the double opt-in feature. In general, how are records added to the CRM that get pushed to Mailchimp? If you need the double opt-in process, you can have records get added to Mailchimp, and synced back to the CRM via the integration (rather than relying on the CRM to Mailchimp push).

With the Professional level, we'd sync data back from Mailchimp to the CRM. That enables you to create reports with Mailchimp data, such as opens and clicks. You might have some sample data there currently under the MailChimp Activities module as we sometimes sync over some initial data during the trial phase even during a limited plan.

We also have some information available within a connector at the record level. Here's information on setting that up: https://fanaticallabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021367691-SuiteCRM-and-Sugar-6-Mailchimp-Activity-Connector. Have you put this connector into place?

    Thanks, Heidi
