Read Status Badge on Emails - Every outgoing HTML email now shows a colour-coded status badge directly on the email record - A green "Read (Nx)" badge appears when the recipient has opened the email, with the total open count - An amber "Not Read" badge appears when the email was tracked but has not been opened yet - The badge is visible in both the email list view and the email detail view

First-Open Notification - SuiteCRM sends the sender an in-app alert the moment a recipient opens their email for the first time - The notification shows the recipient name or address, the email subject, and the exact time the email was opened - Clicking the alert takes the sender directly to the linked email record

Full Open History per Email - Every tracked email creates a record in the MTS Email Receipt module - Each record shows: recipient addresses, date sent, date first opened, total open count, and details from the most recent open - Records can be searched, sorted, and filtered just like any other SuiteCRM module

Admin Configuration Panel - Admins can enable or disable tracking system-wide from the Configuration page - Admins can separately control whether in-app notifications are sent when emails are opened - Both settings take effect immediately without requiring a restart or repair

License Management - Full SugarOutfitters license integration via the License page - License is validated weekly in the background without disrupting normal use - The configuration area is protected — it is only accessible after a valid license is in place

Known Limitations

  • Open tracking requires the email to be sent as HTML. Plain-text emails are not supported and will not show a badge or create a receipt record.
  • On SuiteCRM 7 installations, receipt records are created per sent email, but the open tracking marker cannot be embedded — the "First Opened" date and open count will remain empty.
  • The tracking marker requires the recipient's mail client to load external images. Mail clients with images blocked by default (common in corporate settings) will not trigger an open event even if the email is read.
  • Tracking is controlled globally — it cannot be turned on or off for individual users or specific email records in this version.
  • When an email is sent to multiple recipients (To, CC, BCC), the first person to open it triggers the first-open event. The plugin does not identify which specific individual from the group opened the email.

Upgrade Notes

Activating your license after purchase:

  1. Go to MTS Email Receipt → License in SuiteCRM.
  2. Paste your SugarOutfitters key into the license field.
  3. Click Validate. The page confirms successful activation.
  4. Go to MTS Email Receipt → Configuration and turn on Enable Tracking.

Reinstalling or upgrading:

  1. Go to Admin → Module Loader → Installed Packages and uninstall the current version.
  2. Keep the tracking data when prompted — this preserves your existing receipt records.
  3. Upload and install the new version using the standard Module Loader process.
  4. Go to MTS Email Receipt → License and re-validate your key if prompted.
  5. Confirm that Enable Tracking is on in the Configuration page.
