Introduction

Introduction — MTS ownCloud Integration

For businesses running ownCloud as their self-hosted file platform, switching between SuiteCRM and ownCloud to manage documents creates unnecessary friction. Sales reps open a separate tab to upload a proposal. Support agents paste file links manually into case notes. Managers browse folder trees to find a contract they know belongs to a specific account. This extension eliminates that friction entirely.

MTS ownCloud Integration embeds ownCloud file management directly into SuiteCRM's record views. Users can drag and drop files onto any enabled record — Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Cases, or any other module the administrator chooses — and the file is immediately stored in a structured folder inside ownCloud. No manual organization required. Every uploaded file is linked back to the record and displayed in a dedicated subpanel, showing file name, size, and a one-click link to open it in ownCloud.

On SuiteCRM v8, the integration is fully native. A drag-and-drop upload widget appears as a dedicated tab on the record's detail view, built as a proper Angular Module Federation extension that matches SuiteCRM v8's modern interface without iframes or popups. Users get a responsive drop zone, a live upload queue with progress indicators, and clear queue management — consistent with how SuiteCRM v8 looks and behaves.

Because ownCloud runs on your own infrastructure, your files never pass through a third-party server. MTS ownCloud Integration is designed for organizations that take data sovereignty seriously — giving you the productivity of a cloud-connected document management experience without sacrificing control over where your files are stored.
