#542 - Can't Add Org Chart to Menus

In Progress Bug? created by Catchlightpro 7 years ago

Hello,

I've installed a free trial of Org Chart v. 1.0.3 onto a stable SuiteCRM 7.8.5. The license key for the trial is entered. Org Chart is working, but only accessible in the Admin area near the bottom.

I have not been able to add Org Chart to any menus or subpanels for an Admin. I have not tried other users with security groups or roles. Under Administration->Display Modules and Subpanels, Org Chart is missing and not in the selection lists. Same for Administration->Configure Module Menu Filters.

Org Chart is an option to be enabled in Role access grids, but as an Admin, I didn't worry about that yet.

Your documentation says you tested through 7.8.2, but I'm on 7.8.5. Could there be an issue now? Is the free trial restricted in some way?

I tried to add a dashlet: "My Organization Chart" (yes, the option is there! ), but I get the following warnings and error:

Warning: require(modules/jckl_OrgChart/metadata/dashletviewdefs.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/user9/public_html/suitecrm/modules/jckl_OrgChart/Dashlets/jckl_OrgChartDashlet/jckl_OrgChartDashlet.php on line 55

Thanks in advance for reviewing this and hopefully resolving. It would be great if the only issue is me missing a setting somewhere!

Hello and first off thanks for your trial. I really appreciate it.

Originally I intended this module to be a supplement to the User Management module in Admin and that is why I had access limited to the link in Admin. I see that was probably not the best decision. I will work on an update to add this to the menu and if you don't want it for certain users that can be controlled via Role Management. I need to do some testing but I will try to have that to you by Monday.

As far as the dashlet that is my error. I didn't intend there to be a dashlet for this module. I had previously looked at doing so which is why the option is there but I couldn't get the chart to look proper in the dashlet so far.

Thanks again and I'll reach out to you soon.

    Hello,

I have uploaded a package that should be available under your purchases for Version 1.4. Please uninstall the previous version and install this one.

This should add the module as an option for the navigation menu. If you are using a filtered navigation it should be available under 'All' but if not look if it is hidden under Display Modules and subpanels after installing.

For now I disabled the Dashlets but I'm going to take another shot at having the Org Chart in a dashlet and will have another update soon if successful.

THanks again and please let me know how it goes.

Everything went very well with the new version. No rush on the dashlets. A client of mine purchased the software this morning! Thanks again for a very handy and time-saving visual charting product!
